Ready to go!

It's been a crazy day! But finally we are ready. All packed and hopefully we have planned well.
Shadow is getting used to his new digs at camp, and the weather is holding for tomorrow.
Next time we write, we hopefully will be on our way via London, England.
The Queen didn't answer our email, so we might just visit a small town near Heathrowe.
Stay tuned!

General and Visas

It's amazing to be going on a cruise to South East Asia, and even more amazing to be working on the cruise giving lectures on Tai Chi. I hope to have the time to write a few lines every day and post photos (of course) for my friends and family to enjoy.
It was a bit tricky trying to get information about visas. There is so much conflicting information on the web, and even calling the embassies was not that informative. I called the Vietnam embassy in Ottawa , the charge for the quick visa was $230 not including courier. A visa company here in Toronto, wanted $700 to get an expedited visa for the 3 days in Vietnam. Finally I did some digging on the RC site after Rick was looking at it the other day. In a very small link on the documents page:

For Cambodia and Vietnam, ship personnel will assist each guest required to secure a visa for Cambodia and Vietnam and charge the guests onboard SeaPass account a one-time fee of twenty-eight ($28.00 USD) dollars for a Cambodia visa and twenty-five ($25.00 USD) dollars for a Vietnam visa.
These visa fees include a small processing charge by our local representative! What great service!
That means :
a) I don't have to do it before we leave
b) The total cost including processing is $106 US ( $100 CAN)
So that is a relief.
The other countries on our trip do not require visas for the short time we are there, but if you are travelling for longer trips, always check.
Stay tuned!

12 Days to Lift Off !

Just got the final email today, flights in place and we're getting ready to go! I thought a blog would be a great way to keep in touch with family and friends while we are away. So if you feel like seeing what we are up to, drop in often. Here's where and when we are going.....
